Ask A Gamer: Meg George

Welcome to Ask A Gamer! Each week I post a series of questions and answers from gamers to show just how similar or different we all are. My aim is to highlight the positivity in the gaming community and share what we love doing most: gaming.

If you would like to get involved, please get in touch on Twitter, Instagram, comment below or email me at prudentgamingmn@gmail.com.

This week’s gamer is: Meg George

Introduce yourself and your blog/social media page

Hey, I’m Meg. My blog is called project castaway. I recently stopped blogging due to not having the same passion for it as I used to. It’s like an end of an era. But I still do some photography on my Instagram page: @project_castaway

Where did your love for Gaming begin?

My love for games started when I was very young. I’ve grown up with 5 brothers in my house hold who loved games. They introduced me to them. Never stopped playing since.

What is your earliest gaming memory?

I remember my brothers and I playing Halo 2 together using two TV screens and two XBoxes. We would make our own versions of the game.

What was the first game you remember playing?

Halo 2

What was the first game you ever purchased with your own money?

Rayman 2

Which is your preferred platform? (No judgement here!)

PlayStation. It used to be Xbox but I found it was very limited with be games you could play and the online community.

What is your all time favourite game and why?

Fallout 3. Because the storyline was amazing; allowing you to feel like you are apart of that world. It also has great side stories that make the world feel more real. Every time I play I feel very immersed.

What is your favourite genre of game?

First Person Shooter.

What Game(s) are you most looking forward to this year?

This is a hard question. I’m not sure. I would have said Kingdom Hearts 3 but that’s already out.

Which game made you realise that video games are a powerful storytelling medium?

Heavy Rain! What a game that was!

What, in your opinion, is the most important aspect of a game (level design, music, story etc)?

The story. The story makes me want to play more, makes me want to find out more.

Which game would you love a remake of?

This is an interesting question. I would have said Spyro but lucky for me it’s already been remade. So I would say now Time Splitters 2.

Which game do you feel not enough people know about?

Gone Home. It’s very similar to Firewatch but based in a house. It’s a short game which is very well made. I don’t really hear people talking about it. Even though they should!

What is your favourite video game movie?

If I’m honest, I haven’t found a video game movie that I like. I would love to find one though. Just need one to impress me.

If video game movies were largely good, which game would you like to see on the big screen?

Another great question! I would have to say Fallout. Although thinking about it I wouldn’t know how they would do it well. Maybe Oblivion might be a fun one.
