Where did your love for Gaming begin?

I think it would have started when I was younger because I love mythology and medieval era sword fighting and magic and all the kinds of D&D, Might and Magic, Elder Scrolls type stuff. It was my dream as a child. Imagine my excitement when I found out I could live in those worlds as a magical knight, or the stealthy rogue through the power of video games.

What is your earliest gaming memory?

Opening the “Christmas family gift” which was the Nintendo 64, with Diddy Kong Racing, setting it up and being terrible at it with my siblings, but enjoying it regardless.

What was the first game you remember playing?

The earliest I remember playing was Diddy Kong Racing, but I can’t remember exactly from back that young! Sorry!

What was the first game you ever purchased with your own money?

World of Warcraft subscriptions that I shared with my friend. I ended up getting my own account several years down the road, but that’s the first game I remember spending my own money on.

Which is your preferred platform? (No judgement here!)

PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PC.

What is your all time favourite game and why?

This is a very hard one. I’ve spent close to 11,000-12,000 hours in World of Warcraft. I adored smaller games as well. If I could name a franchise instead, it’d have to be Assassin’s Creed. I have thousands worth in collectibles, all of the hard copies. etc. Assassin’s Creed 2 would probably be one of my first fully completed AC games.

What is your favourite genre of game?

I’m extremely fond of RPG’s, stealth and/or FPS genre’s as a whole. Leaning towards stealth/RPG games more lately.

What Game(s) are you most looking forward to this year?

Metro Exodus! I haven’t shut up about it. I own the game as of writing this up, but I haven’t started because I have committed to a couple of other games first. I’m really excited to give it a go. Outside of that, I’m very curious to see Days Gone.

Which game made you realise that video games are a powerful storytelling medium?

I’ll be honest, I never paid much attention to story when growing up. I have always known that games were a good place for stories, but I never really felt a story as strongly as when I played TT’s The Walking Dead, Season 1. Amazing game. Then I found God of War (4). Amazing. This really pushed me to look into stories and lore of the games I’m interested in.

What, in your opinion, is the most important aspect of a game (level design, music, story etc)?

There are two angles I wanna hit this one. Personally, I need the gameplay and level design to be good. For a video GAME, I want to be able to PLAY it and enjoy the GAME-PLAY.
But, in the over all to make a game really damn good, I feel I should be able to play and enjoy the general gameplay, but I want a story that brings me in and makes me feel things, the better the score backing the story, the better the emotional impact.

Number one aspect I personally need, gameplay.
But I don’t think a game will be good unless it has all of those qualities backing it.

Which game would you love a remake of?

I’d say Onimusha, but we got one, yay! Next would be Morrowind. I don’t think it’ll happen, ever, but I think that would be a remake that would make my year.

Which game do you feel not enough people know about?

I’m a pretty main stream guy, so I don’t know a lot of smaller ones. A couple of small games I think everyone should look into are Cat Quest, Catlateral,  Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles, The Bard’s Tale, Devious Dungeon and Tennis in the Face.

What is your favourite video game movie?

Dungeons & Dragons (2000). I don’t know why, but I loved this movie and still do. I really wanted to love the Assassin’s Creed movie but it just didn’t work for me.

If video game movies were largely good, which game would you like to see on the big screen?

I’d like to see a better done adaption of Assassin’s Creed. I want to see Dishonoured. Far Cry and Fall Out games as well.
